A beautiful green-and-white ivory English chess set that appears to have been made by George Merrifield, based on the distinctive style of Merrifield knights. Merrifield shows up in the London Directories from 1819 through 1852.

The set comes with its original mahogany box and key. Note the rare double-height rooks.
