Mexican Bone Chess Set

A fancy Mexican bone set, late 19th century or early 20th century. One side natural color, the other side stained plum red, all pieces with gilt highlights. Both sides have unusual inset abalone roundels to all the pieces. The set has striking similarities in design to the "Spanish Pulpit" sets. King 6 inches (15.2 cms).
