Old English Chess Set - 18th Century

An ultra-classic Old English style set. The previous owner had told me that the box was original to the set, but it turns out that he was simply making it up. However, the set still dates from the 2nd half of the 18th century.

The Old English style was popular in the 1700's, during the time of the outstanding French player, Philidor.
