An "Old English Pattern" ebony and boxwood chess set, by Leuchars of 38, Picadilly, 19th century kings and queens with turned knops, bishops with open mitres, knights as carved horses' heads, rooks as monobloc turrets, pawns with ball finials, the black king with Leuchars' trade label to the underside, the king 12cm high, the pawn 6cm high.
