Designated by some experts as a Barleycorn, this set does not have the barleycorn leaves on the Kings' and Queens' stems. Hence some experts refer to this style as "Ropetwist".

The Barleycorn pattern was popular in England during the Victorian period. Almost all Barleycorn sets were made of bone rather than ivory. This set dates from 1830-1850.
